So it was the beginning of E3 today! So excited I woke up early and everything. Microsoft conference was first. Just got done watching it after I had heard such terrible things I wasn't expecting much. Gears of Wars 3 looked really good, not a big surprise, however there are two new characters. Both female...wtf? Whatevs, I am sure I will still buy it and thoroughly enjoy it, especially 4 player CO-OP!
Next was Halo: Reach. Which looks FANTASTIC! Old school Halo feel with new school graphics, plus it looks to add more to the lore and lots more action packed fun! Looking foward to this qutie a bit.
The "big" draw this year was Kintetic (aka last years Project Natal) which is basically an upgraded Eye Toy. It is a voice and motion capture system that is pretty nice. Based on original comments I wasn't expecting much but it wasn't as bad as everyone claimed. Sure it isn't something to rant and rave about, but there is some cool ideas there. They have some cool party games and a really neat looking Star Wars game allowing the use of the Force and Lightsabers by moving your body...I can finally live out my Star Wars dreams...if only partially. Xbox's big closer surprise was the new Xbox "lite" which released in stores today! Overall, not impressive, but not bad.
,
Highlights for the day and what I am looking foward to:
Metal Gear Solid: Rising Swords. This has some FANTASTIC visuals and a really cool new concept of slow motion killing. While in slow motion you can change the motion of your swings and dice your opponent to pieces. I see this being a key component to hitting weak points in enemies which could lead to some killer killing blows.
Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit. Very cool looking and the multiplayer looks pretty intense as well. But it's just another Need for Speed game so not TOO excited about it.
A new Medal of Honor. Ok...at first I thought terrible things, having flashbacks to previous terrible MoH games. However, the multiplayer in this games looks very fun. Seems like a Unreal Tournament of World War II. Very intense quick paced combat with small maps and lots of people. But yet lots of cover and buildings. Looks quite fun and will need to be looked into more.
Star Wars: The Old Republic. I needn't say much about this game. VERY excited about this game. Newly released today was the news that we will be able to have our own Spaceship! Also released was a new trailer! That was about it...so just more teasers at the moment but they hint at more information being released later in E3 which I can't wait to see. I love where this is going and can't wait to hear/see more!
Assasin's Creed. Looked pretty typical of AC. Pretty graphics with some cool looking gameplay (killing blows and what not). The coolest thing I heard about this is the new multiplayer mode. Sounds kind of interesting and will need to hear more about it, but it has potential to be very innovative.
Lastly we have Shaun White's Skateboarding game. So I haven't played a really fun skateboarding game since Tony Hawk's first one for the Playstation. This game makes me want to pick the series up again. As you skate around and perform tricks more areas are unlocked and the area changes! Like colors, buildings, and more skate areas! You can also change things around mid-skate. Like you start grinding and with the joy-stick you can change where the railing goes, allowing for different places to be reached and different chained combos! This looks very good and can't wait to see more about this!
In the end a pretty decent opener to E3. I look foward to tomorrow for more release information and hands on with games, along with Sony and Nintendo press releases! I will post here again tomorrow with my reactions to the days events!

First Post...Yay?
So, as stated in my "about me" this is basically going to be my online diary (hate that word). If you happen to read this, whatevs. I don't plan on putting anything TOO personal in here...hopefully.
(Present)
It is currently 1:00 am in a very warm Minnesota. My sisters 16th B-day is tomorrow, she is growing up SO fast it's ridiculous. Not much went on today other than work (shocker). Looking foward to the next few days though! (See "Future" section for more details)
(Past)
Speaking of sisters, I went and saw the other two last week. I thought Emily was growing fast! These two are nothing but legs! It's so crazy! Abby is the little athlete and Ellie is our aspiring genious/fellow nerd, I have taught her well. It was nice to see them all again. I hadn't seen them for a few months now and I felt like a stranger for the first few minutes, but by the end of the first day they couldn't stop talking about what they'd been up too.
(Future)
So I am not sure how long I plan on doing this whole blog thing. The whole idea seems kinda silly to me but I digress. As for a look into the future, tomorrow is going to be the start of, what I hope to be, a fantastic series of days! Starting tomorrow I will be heading over to The House to hang with some friends and watch some T.V....oh...and the start of E3 2010! I can't wait! So excited to waste hours of my life eagerly awaiting what is in store for Videogaming over the next year! It is my NFL draft pick...I live for this. E3 will be going from Monday until Thursday(ish) so that will be the focus of my attention for the next few days.
On Tuesday I will be continuing the Palladium adventure with Josh, Jason, and Ryan. They are currently doing "missions" up in the Great North and things are getting pretty chaotic. I am glad I found some people willing to play this with me. I had never GM'ed before and it is quite the experience. A little frustrating at times holding their hands but now that they are getting the gist of it it seems to be going better.
And lastly, Wednesday! On this day the good old Steamboat Days begins. The current plan is to meet up with Alainna, Constance, and Kyle and go down and check out all the festivities. Not sure what this will all entail but I look foward to it with much anticipation! During the time Steamboat Days is in affect I plan on heading down to the beer garden and participating in some celebration myself! Listen to some bands, maybe meet some people, but at the very least hang with friends!
I am sure I will post a few more blogs over the next few days recapping the Palladium, E3, and Steamboat experiences! But for now...hopefully dreamland.
